Hi! I’m Kristen!!
The girl behind the camera.
I’m a photographer based in San Diego, California but I travel just about everywhere for my sessions and weddings! From not too far places such as Big Sur and Joshua Tree, to flying to the East Coast, or weddings in Europe… I travel everywhere and have experience in doing so for work and can help you with all the details of that!
Photography is my biggest passion and it has been incredible to put my heart and soul into this field of work.
I am the ultimate hype woman during your session. No need to feel shy, awkward, or concerned about what you’ll look like…I GOT YOU! I make sure that we all get a good laugh, I’ll get your good angles, fun prompts to keep the energy flowing, and by the end of your session you’ll leave feeling extremely happy and wondering how the time went by so fast!
I am originally from the East Coast (Virginia) but -in a very cinematic style- in 2014 I sold everything I could, packed anything that would fit in my little Kia, and moved across the country on a whim with my then boyfriend (now husband!). It has been one crazy journey and I’m thankful for it all.
Things I love:
- my rescue dogs Luna + Banjo
- camping + hiking!
- date nights with my husband (always end the night at a local brewery)
- allllll the indie folk music (I’m literally listening to the Lumineers as I type this)
- traveling! Ireland has been one of my favorite places so far and we go every year!
- beach sunsets with a burrito in hand
Now, here’s a little more about working with me:
I firmly believe in investing in your memories. These are moments we will not get back and it is so important to have something tangible to hold onto these fleeting moments.
When you work with me you’ll be getting more than just a photo session, you’ll be getting an experience. Before your session (or wedding) even begins I will be there to help guide you through what colors to wear, the best location for your vision, and get to know what you’re comfortable with. My style when shooting is “posed, but make it candid”. I am ALL about directing you and giving you prompts (so you know WHAT the heck to do once you’re in front of the camera) that give a very candid vibe to your images. I will tell you up front to PLEASE laugh and talk to each other, don’t worry about the camera, I am just directing you on how to be your already-cute-selves and the more you genuinely interact with each other the better! Never ever feel rushed because we have all the time in the world, in fact, by the end of your session you’ll be saying “wow! That went by so fast! We had so much fun!”.
